How do I know if the GSM
Channel Bank Solution is right for me?
This solution is probably your best option if getting an E1 or
T1 telephone line is difficult or expensive,
competition is limited,or GSM is a widespread standard for the
mobile networks.
1 GSM Channel
Bank
The GSM channel bank is typically a rack-mounted 7u (or about
15 cm)chasis.Multiple GSM SIM cards are loaded into slots in the
channel bank. The GSM channel bank also includes an E1 or T1 interface
for connection into the gateway. Calls coming into the channel
bank from the mobile network will be routed through the E1 or
T1 to the gateway.
Generally, a single GSM
channel bank can support up to 30 simultaneous phone calls. Channel
bank depends on the number of simultaneous phone calls. Typically,a
GSM channel bank supporting 30 simultaneous calls will cost about
$12,950. Channels can be supported by purchasing a second GSM
channel bank. There are several manufacturers, EurotelSat sales
representative can provide assistance in the procurement of the
appropriate equipment.
2 Access Number
Service Providers can quickly establish an access number for customers
to dial to reach the IVR using the GSM channel bank. The GSM channel
bank will be populated with SIM cards that can readily be purchased
in most markets. A trunk group with multiple phone lines but a
single phone number can be easily created by programming the SIM
cards. For example, one SIM card is selected as the primary telephone
number (primary SIM).This number will be the number all end users
dial to access the IVR. This primary SIM will be programmed on
a standard GSM phone with the “busy call forward ”
feature,so that if the primary SIM is engaged in a telephone call,
the call will be connected to a secondary SIM on the GSM channel
bank. The secondary SIM will also be programmed so that if the
secondary SIM is busy, the call will be forwarded to a third SIM
on the channel bank,etc.
Consequently, one telephone number can represent 30 or more channels.
This telephone number is the number
distributed to end users or printed on pre-paid calling cards.
3 VoIP Gateway
The VoIP gateway will receive calls off the GSM Channel bank using
the E1 or T1 connection and connect the call through the Internet
to EurotelSat ’s IVR and real-time billing system. EurotelSat
’s technology will support VoIP gateways manufactured by
several different companies.
Your EurotelSat sales representative can assist in the procurement
of the appropriate VoIP Gateway and software.
The gateway will be connected to the Internet through a broadband
Internet connection.
4 Internet Connection
The Internet connection is a critical element in determining the
quality and reliability of your phone service.
EurotelSat ’s most successful customers have high quality
Internet connections, and your own voice service will not be viable
if the Internet connection is poor. The recommended specification
for an acceptable Internet connection includes less than 3%packet
loss, less than 50 ms of jitter, and less than 600 ms of round-trip
delay. Connection is down, the calling service will not be available,
but fortunately reliable connections via satellite are available
worldwide. The Internet connection must also provide a public
IP address for the VoIP gateway.
The GSM, E1/T1 channel bank is an integrated solution that provides
30 x GSM (wireless) terminals for an E1, or 24 x GSM (wireless)
terminals for a T1 interface, in a single integrated system.
The GSM wireless terminals are directly integrated to an E1/T1
interface which, in turn, may be connected to a VoIP gateway (e.g.
Cisco AS5300 / AS3640, Nuera 200iP, Quintum etc.) to terminate
VoIP calls directly through GSM wireless networks.
The GSM Channel Bank also offers an integrated Echo-Canceller
(optional) to cancel (remove) any echoes that result from the
typical VoIP / VoATM network delays.
On the E1/T1 side - you
shall directly connect it to a VoIP Router through the E1/T1 Interface.
On the GSM side - all you
have to do is INSERT the SIM cards.
All 30 / 24, GSM channels
are dual band - 900MHz and 1800MHz with auto-sense / auto-switching
capability.
Each GSM channel bank is
supplied with 30, external tray mount 3.5dB gain antennas (each,
with 2 meter RG174 co-axial cable).
Our GSM, E1 Channel

a). 19-Inch Chassis.
